I recently had a trip to the dentist that changed my life.
OKAY – I’m totally being dramatic about this, but I’ll be 30 this January, and I have never had a cavity before! This is actually something I pride myself on. I’m surprised it has never made its way onto my resume [‘cavity free since 1989!‘]
So… When I found out I have TWO, you can imagine my level of devastation. Anyway, fast forward to the day I had to get my cavities filled, and I was warned that I wouldn’t be able to eat for a few hours after [until the numbness wore off], but of course I totally forgot and did not prepare for this.
The cavity filling went great [didn’t hurt at all..] but, I was STARVING after. I had to quickly search for something to eat before I went back to work. Luckily I had a few spare ingredients in my fridge and pantry, thus, this recipe was created!
Since then, I’ve made this a few more times and it continues to impress. However, the most important thing to remember is to use FROZEN bananas. This will ensure that your drink is already cold and ready to enjoy immediately after mixing. I typically cut up bananas that are about to go bad, and store them in a freezer zip lock bag so that I always have some to use. Plus, it serves as another purpose and you don’t need to be wasteful.
Interested in trying it? I’ve listed out the ingredients and steps to create below!
- 1-2 frozen bananas
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp of cinnamon
- 1 cup of almond milk
- 1 pinch of chia seed
- Combine all ingredients together in Nutribullet
- Pulse for 1 minute on HIGH
- The most important step… ENJOY!
This is definitely a healthy recipe I can jump on board with!
